Babaroga — Chardonnay

Bottle of Babaroga with a glass in the winery cellar

“The vines at Veliki Vrhovi grow on very meagre soil, with a minimum of plant-protection treatments and no herbicides.”

The yield per vine is under 1 kg which, together with tending the vineyard by hand, secures the highest possible grape quality.

Picking is done by hand into shallow 9 kg crates, so the berries do not split early and lose their juice. The grapes are chilled and go into the press whole, without crushing; from there the juice runs into barriques to ferment and age on the lees for twelve months.

Serving temperature 8–12°C
